SEATTLE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
The Challenge:
The City of Seattle’s Department of Transportation (SDOT) had an initiative to stimulate public discussion on the considerable impact commuters have when selecting their daily mode of transportation. To create the imagery for the campaign, a complex, large-scale photo shoot would need to be produced on main city streets. Due to the incredibly complicated logistics, the job had previously seemed impossible.
The Solution:
OnRequest Images turned SDOT’s logistical and creative nightmare around and delivered a customized, efficient solution. We organized 200 “commuters” on two city blocks and photographed them in a variety of transportation modes. After the photography was completed, OnRequest Images’ post-production experts retouched the campaign’s iconic images. The images selected by SDOT were scheduled to appear in a variety of media, including city and transit Web sites, billboards, and buses, so multiple file sizes and formats were needed.
The Results:
“This project was a great example of OnRequest Images’ ability to manage the thousand little details it takes to make an image worth a thousand words,” said Nicole Matthews, OnRequest Images' vice president of production. “Thanks to our years of experience with challenging assignments, and our company’s proprietary workflow platform, we were able to effectively and efficiently deliver stunning imagery that the region’s people have responded to.”
